Welcome! COME ON IN

I've been in the beauty industry 14+ years; and working as an esthetician for 8+ years. And one thing that has remained constant for me is that I was always really intrigued with the psychology around skincare and taking care of yourself.

This industry is so ruthless. Engineered to chase an unattainable perfection. Feeding off of your insecurities; banking on your inability to advocate for yourself.

" If you buy this product your problems go away." "If your wellness doesn't look like this....  or come with opulence it isn't wellness at all". It isn't sustainable at all.

And that's where I come in. I say fcuk all that. I don't want to talk solely about product. I want to talk about the entire picture! And that's why I've fallen out of love with this industry. I LOVE being an esthetician but I hate these superficial conversations on wellness. I want to talk about mental health, I want to share my stories on this industry. I want to talk about wellness and the exclusion of the workers who provide it! I want to talk about the simple everyday shit that we do, that could easily become selfcare if we added more mindfulness and intention behind it. I want to talk about selfcare as an act of activism...

It's me, Elle! And my take ON Skin! Trying to create a safe space to express myself freely and have it reach like minded individuals like you! So come on in!
